Summertime is coming, which means it’s time for sun and the county fair! If you’re taking a San Diego extended stay this summer, 
be sure to check out the San Diego County Fair, happening June 8 to July 4. This year’s theme is Out of this World, and there will be plenty of fun exploring the universe, science fiction and exterritorial visitors!
The fair is open every day between June 8 and July 4 except for Mondays. The fair will be open on July 2 to celebrate Independence Day. Some of the highlights include a flower and garden show with talks, animals, wood designs, gems & minerals and car shows. There is a special section for family fun called “the Infield.” Kiddieland will contain more than 40 rides for toddlers and young children. Families can also participate in contests, and watch entertainers on the Albertson’s stage all day long. Talented chefs will showcase their recipes on the San Diego Pavilion, and there will be wine tasting each day from 4 to 5pm.
The County Fair will have many famous musical guests, including Demi Lovato, Switchfoot, Weird Al Yankovic and many more as part of the Toyota Summer Concert series. The Ford Dealers Paddock Concert Series will feature many tribute bands on nationally known artists such as Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd and Journey.
Tickets to the San Diego County Fair are $13 for adults. Seniors ages 62 or older and kids 6-12 years old can get in for $7. Kids ages 5 and younger are free every day. Kids 6-12 years old are admitted for free on Tuesdays. You can buy 24 Days for $24 and purchase ride/game tickets for $2. There is a discount for purchasing multiple rides or games at once.
