For those taking refuge in a San Diego downtown hostel this summer, Taste of Gaslamp is a great way to explore the Gaslamp 
District and sample some amazing food. Every year the Taste showcases world famous chefs and restaurants of the Gaslamp.
This is the Taste’s 19th year of providing the opportunity to test out many restaurants in one afternoon. Your ticket is your passport to sample menu specialties from over 30 locations. Guests can start the your by turning in their online paper tickets for walking maps at the check-in area at the San Diego Mariott Gaslamp. After check-in, participants are welcome to visit each location in any order. Take note; a few are only open to those 21 and over, such as Samuel Adams Beer Garden.
Participating restaurants include Fred’s Mexican Café, The Melting Pot, San Diego Wine and Culinary Center, La Fiesta Mexican Cuisine & Lounge, The Merk, Rockin Baja Costal Cantina, Hard Rock Café , Heavenly Cupcakes and so many more. The menu specialties range from snacks like gelato, entrees like lobster macaroni to exotic favorites like sushi.
The Taste is an annual Fundraiser to benefit the Gaslamp Quarter Association. Proceeds will go towards protecting and improving the historic district. If you happen to dine at any of the locations at a later time, let the manager know that you discovered them through the Taste of Gaslamp so that future events will continue.
Tickets can be purchased on-line here for $30 for either Saturday or Sunday. The Gaslamp Quarter has transformed in under 200 years from a small waterfront town to a premiere California destination. With shopping, dining and entertainment all in one district, it is an excellent place to spend a day or night during your vacation. The Gaslamp is proud to host over 200 restaurants, bars, nightclubs, lounges, boutiques, art galleries and shops.
