It’s almost that time of year again – when entertainment fans will storm the San Diego convention center for four days at the world’s largest

New this year is the first-ever official Comic-Con opening night party. Hard-Rick Icon and celebrated film-maker Rob Zombie will host a night filled with fantasy, monsters, science-fiction and heavy metal. You’ll have the opportunity to take photos with Dragula, and win limited edition illustrated posters and customized t-shirts. The party will take place at Petco Park across the street from the Convention Center.
If independent film is your passion, you’ll definitely want to check out the Comic-Con Independent Film Festival at the Marriot Marquis and Marina, next door to the Convention Center. Most films are genre-related, from action/adventure, animation, comics, documentary, humor, horror and science fiction. This year’s programming has an “international” flavor with selections from all over the world. Special awards will be held on Sunday afternoon.
Wednesday, July 11 is Preview Night. Comic-Con and Warner Brothers TV partner to bring attendees premiere screenings of the pilot of episodes of some of the most highly anticipated RV series pilots. This year, 666 Park Avenue, Arrow, The Following, Revolution and Cult will screen in Ballroom 20. Some of the big television shows that are already confirmed to have panels include Dexter, Firefly, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Game of Throne, Glee, True Blood and many more.
If you’re staying in San Diego extended stay hotels during the convention, you’ll be pleased to hear that many hotels nearby have shuttles that run from 24 hours every 30 minutes to and from the convention center. Hopefully you already have tickets because Comic-Con is already completely sold out. Get ready to have a blast at Comic-Con!
